Boris Johnson’s governing Conservative party is institutionally and ideologically committed to Brexit. Brexit is going to happen on 31 January 2020. After that, the no-deal crisis is scheduled for 31 December 2020. On this date England, Wales & Scotland look set to crash out of the Mens Roots Hockey T Shirt market and customs union. There will be separate trading arrangements for Northern Ireland. Mr Johnson could ask the EU for more time, taking talks into 2021. But there are reports that many EU member states aren’t expecting Mr Johnson to do this – though the European Commission is expecting a request. As the 31 December 2020 deadline approaches, no-deal panic could spread among voters and the UK’s elected politicians. Panic which could well spoil the Christmas festivities. Cabinet splits and anxious MPs meeting could follow, assuming Mr Johnson does not prorogue parliament first.
